Feature

ISBN Lookup

Type the number. We fill in the rest.

How it works

Every printed book has an ISBN — a 10 or 13 digit number on the back cover or copyright page. Type it into BookStand (or scan the barcode with your phone camera) and the system looks up the title, author, publisher, publication year, and cover image. All filled in automatically.

30 seconds per book

Without ISBN lookup, listing a book means typing the title, author, publisher, and description manually. Then finding a cover image. Then formatting it all. With BookStand, the entire listing takes 30 seconds: scan ISBN, set condition, set price, publish.

Bulk listing at speed

A shop with 500 books to digitise does not have time to manually type each one. With ISBN scan, an assistant can list 100+ books per hour. Point the camera, set condition, set price, move to the next book. The scanner does the heavy lifting.

What if there is no ISBN?

Older books, self-published titles, and some regional publications may not have an ISBN. In these cases, BookStand lets you create a manual listing where you type the title, author, and details yourself. The ISBN lookup is a convenience, not a requirement.

How competitors compare

OLX, Facebook Marketplace, and Quikr have no ISBN lookup. Every listing is fully manual. AbeBooks supports ISBN but charges 15-20% commission per sale.
